How to Get a Sponsor

If you are an online or telephone meeting member, there are basically four ways to find sponsorship:

  1. Attend any face-to-face meetings in your area and see if, over time, there is someone you would like to ask to be your sponsor.

  2. Attend the telephone meetings and see if, over time, there is someone you would like to ask to be your sponsor. One way to be in contact with other members and possibly develop recovery partners or find sponsorship is via the group email lists. Another is to stay on the line at the end of meetings during the fellowship portion.

  3. Attend the online posting meetings and see if, over time, there is someone you would like to ask to be your sponsor. There is a list of email addresses on the Bulletin Board including the names of those online meeting members who are willing to act as sponsors for other members on a standing basis. You can read the Address List HERE.

  4. The SCA-ISO Inreach Committee maintains an International Sponsor List of SCA members worldwide who are willing to sponsor other members remotely by telephone, email, mail, Skype etc. all over the world. Anyone interested in being sponsored or sponsoring others via this list can contact the Inreach Committee Chairperson by email. Details of how the distance sponsorship list operates can be reviewed HERE.
